 | Develop a tailored research training program for imaging sciences research personnel that would embrace the needs of individuals in residency training, fellowships, and junior faculty positions. A two-year period of training is preferable. Participation in the training program could be within the parent department, another institution, or the NIH. |
| | Create four training positions for imaging sciences research personnel at the NIH for one to two year periods. Trainees would work in the intramural laboratory(ies) of their choice. |
| | Enable externally-funded (through foundations, corporations, and university departments) individuals to access training positions at the NIH. |
| | Increase both the number of and available positions for radiologic sciences research training grants. |
